He worked as a stockman for 11 years, before enlisting into the Army.

Notice in one of the documents above he has Tuberculosis and they asked for him to live with his brother Robert J Jackson, it was approved, dated 2 Jul 1920.
He must of recovered from it because he got married and had children and died 16 Jun 1956 in Suffolk, Nansemond, Virginia, USA.
