Joseph Clyde Wardlaw was born 1 Jan 1896 in Topeka, KS to Charles Wardlaw and Elizabeth Esther Childs who died giving birth to Joseph. His father Charles died when he was very young and he was raised by his grandfather David Childs born abt 1845 in South Carolina and married to Murby "Mattie".

Joseph enlisted into 24th Inf, 3rd Bat, Comp. I at Omaha, NE on 18 Mar 1913.



He became Inmate #12277 Leavenworth
Rec: 10 Dec 1917
Term: Life reduced to 20 years 6 Mo.
Crime: Mutiny & Murder
He was paroled 21 May 1934

I found no children

I found a story a family member wrote not 100% accurate but it's attached to his tree on Ancestry. Joseph died 28 Mar 1970 in Los Angeles, CA his FAG Memorial # 53917366 and I attached his wife to him.
