The Dyer Act is a U.S. federal legislation aimed to supplement states' efforts to combat automobile theft. It was enacted in 1919. This Act made the interstate transportation of stolen vehicles a federal crime. The Dyer Act is popularly called the National Motor Vehicle Theft Act.

William loved them cars, this was the first prison conviction I found, but it's not the last one. Here are his prison records from the 1929 conviction.

There was also a detainer put in place by Sheriff in St. Claire County, IL (Belleville) 3 Jul 1931 That Wlliam was identified as a hold up man in a robbery they were investigating.

 His occupation at this time was a chauffeur. He spent 3 months in jail for larceny in St. Louis, IL.

They said he was a menace to society and daring criminal.

William died 24 Mar 1966 in Belleville, IL He has a FAG memorial #9653270

He had a tattoo of his dad's Initials and his right little finger was amputated.


I did not find any information that he had any children. His wifed died 1989 in O'Fallon, IL



I hope his life ended with an enormous amount of happiness.
