Rufus Garland Anderson III was born 8 Dec 1919 in Texas to Rufus Garland Anderson II (1898-1949)and Ophelia Christopher (1899-1986).
As I was doing my research I found 3 jail records for Alabama, I am not 100% sure this is my Rufus, although the age is listed on one it's a close match to him, so I have attached them to his tree with a comment explaining I am not positive it's him.
His family moved from Texas to California by 1930.
His dad was working in a steel yard in Los Angeles at age 32. Rufus was 10 years old.
By the 1940 Census his father was a truck driver and Rufus was in San Quentin Prison.
Then he was again in trouble in 1944.
He was transferred to Folsom Prison:

Rec: 1 Apr 1944
Rufus as far as I can tell didn't get into anymore trouble after this and he did get married on 5 Sep 1964 to Joann Davis.

I found a photo of Rufus brother Julius in a yearbook and I also found a newspaper clipping that has peaked my curiosity.
I am not sure what this is about but Julius died when he was about 17 years old. I found no other newspaper clippings.
There's no Find a Grave Memorial either. So for now it's a mystery.
His brother Charles Norman Anderson was also visiting San Quentin.

This must of broke their mother's heart, She was about 87 when she died.
