Barbara Irene Bryson was born 29 Apr 1926 in La Feria, Cameron, Texas, USA to Allmon Wilfred Bryson (1886-1946) and Margie Ward (1903-1976).
Barbara's parents divorced in 1939
Blake Joseph Goss was born Blake Joseph Corriea 2 Jul 1923 California to Della Grace Goss & Manuel Corriea. His grandparents must of adopted him and his sister Beatrice they both are living with them in the 1930 census with last name Corriea and by the 1940 census it's changed to Goss.
Seems the two went on a long adventure together. They met at a club where Blake worked as a bartender and Barbara was a cook at the Locker Club in Idaho Falls, ID in 16 Sep 1946. There was $12,780.00 in the trailer of Clifford McGinty which was located on the property of the club. All the cash was in small bills. Barbara and Blake had went to Idaho together and had only been working at the club for 3 1/2 mo before stealing the money. They left Idaho Falls by taxi to Pocatello then by train to Cheyenne, WY then hopped on a plane to Chicago bought a 1941 Cadillac drove to Florida for 10 days then went to Texas. Barbara thought there was something wrong with Blake and she called the sheriff's office in Texas and turned herself and him in, they were then turned over to the Idaho authorities. By the time they were in custody they only had $200 cash left.
This was all gotten from her statements posted below.
Here are Blake's papers
Then they go back to Idaho and have a trial

If this isn't enough drama and crime spree carnival for you here's a kicker.
Blake has a wife, he married Florence Shirley Bitler in Carson City, NV on 14 Jun 1945. He claims he hadn't seen her since 1946 which would make since because he was in the Navy and discharged Aug 1942 joined the Army and discharged May 1946. So he plans on getting a divorce from Florence to marry Barbara who had their son in prison in 23 Aug 1947, who she named Michael. She doesn't get paroled until 1 Oct 1948, Her momma takes care of her son until then. Blake meanwhile was paroled 29 Jan 1948. So what happens??? No idea, I did not find any marriages for them, death records and no Michael anywhere. I even thought maybe Michael had Bryson for a last name.
This family tree is really messed up and strange, lots of lies about ages and where they were born..Samuel Blake Goss was 17 when Bernice was born and his wife was Alice Grace Pegg. Bernice was 13 when Blake was born. Both Alice and Sam said they were born in Idaho. Bernice was born in Utah. Then it changed to 1908 making him 15. So who knows what the truth is. I will try and figure it out.
Michael Frances Goss
Guess this wasn't a true love fairy tale story after all, the spell was broken.
No happy ending until the 1950 census arrives.
