This case is one I am currently writing up for my own blog, so here are some bits I picked up that you might find interesting: (1) Nettie Scott's father, Lucas, was a Civil War veteran (128th Ohio Infantry). He died a year after Nettie was born, apparently from maladies he contracted as a soldier. (2) The Ancestry.com tree for her says the second son, Frank George Alden, died in 1890. (3) Ohio Death Records say that her mother, Joann (or Joanna) died Sept 23, 1913 in Sandusky. (4) An item in the Los Angeles Times - Aug 25, 1930 - pointed out that Nettie's son Harry Scott Alden was a direct descendant of Mayflower pioneer John Alden.
