EXCHANGE OF COURTESIES Governor Chamberlain Honors the Requisition of Governor of Idaho AND ISSUES REQUISITION UPON HIM FOR WOMAN WANTED IN OREGON SUSIE DUFFY, ARRESTED IN PORTLAND, IS WANTED IN LEWISTON.

If Before departing to spend Sunday with his 'family in Portland yesterday morning, Governor Chamberlain honored a requisition from Idaho for the return to that state of a prisoner held in Portland, and issued a requisition upon the Governor of Idaho for the return of a prisoner held there and who Is wanted in Sherman county. In the first case the Governor Was served with requisition papers from the Governor of Idaho which he honored, and extradition papers were issued for the delivery to William Schuldt, as Idaho's agent, -of one Susie Duffy, who is held in custody by the Portland authorities and is wanted in Lewiston, Idaho, to answer to the charge of the larceny of $1,020 from the person of Frank Norris. It will be remembered that, during last fall, Cht-f D. W. Gibson, tipon telegraphic communication from the Idaho authorities, went out to the south-bound overland and placed this same woman, who is a mulatto, under arrest and placed her in the county jail in this city. She was released upon the following morning, however, upon a writ of habeas corpus, and. Instead of continuing her journey to San Francisco with her male negro companion, for which point she stated she was headed,' she returned to Portland, it appears, has remained there ever since; Governor Chamberlain also , upon application of District Attorney Mene-fee, of The Dalles, issued a requisition upon the Governor of Idaho for the return of one J. E. Friend, who is wanted in Sherman county, Oregon, for obtaining property under false pretenses. Sheriff T. R. McGinnis, of Sherman county, was appointed Oregon's Mgent, in whose hands the requisition was placed.

  Susie was sick.

According to her record her father died when she was 5 years old, her mother was alive at the time of her incarceration and she had an Uncle who ran a club in Spokane, WA name is James Reed.
James died in Spokane in Dec of 1903 after Susie was in Prison.

I never found Susie's father.

This is all the information I found out about her. This incident took place in the Paris House, I did some investigating and found it was a brothel, that was a huge thorn for the police to control.

I want to know more about Susie, her eyes are pleading for her story to be told.
