Dennis (Mad Dog) Dilda: Murder

Dennis Dilda was born in Georgia in Feb 1860 to James W Dilda & Martha, and was married to Georgia Belle Ann Patterson. They had 2 children Fern & James Dilda.

Dennis murdered Deputy John M Murphy in Prescott, Arizona in 1885, here are the Coroner Inquest Reports.

He was hung 5 March 1886 in Prescott, AZ 



He also murdered at least 1 man in Texas, 1 or more in the Salt River Valley, and probably General Grant Jenkins in the Walnut Creek area. Dilda, born in Georgia in Feb. 1860, was 26 years old when he died, leaving a wife, parents, and two children named John and Fern, who were living with him and his wife Georgia at the time of the murders.

After her husbands death she married again in 1888 to Ben Anderson. They would divorce in 1901.

Georgia Anderson vs Ben Anderson. The defendant in the latter case was a ranchman who lived ne Phoenix for several years. A little more two years ago he mysterlously disappeared from home under circumstance which at first inclined his wife to believe that he was a victim of foul play, since his departure did not appear to have been planned by him. He was afterward heard from in Colorado.

William was a Private in the First Texas Foot Rifleman in the Civil War.
