William Gustav Becker was born 29 July 1917 in Lead, South Dakota. (Lead is a city in Lawrence County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 3,124 at the 2010 census. Lead is located in western South Dakota, in the Black Hills near the Wyoming state line. Lead's proximity to Deadwood, South Dakota, often leads to the two cities being collectively named "Lead-Deadwood".) To Gustav August Becker (1889-1939) and Ida May Rupe (1885-1965).
Inmate 1462 in Clark County, WA Jail
Rec: 26 Apr 1937
Crime: Grand Larceny
I did not find his criminal record on the Washington Digital Archives for his incarceration at Washington State Prison.
He was 20 years old at the time of his arrest. I also didn't find any newspaper clippings on his crimes.
He married on 5 Sep 1951 in Vancouver, WA to Evelyn Susan Wilson (1916-1988). I didn't find any children to them.
He enlisted into the Military 26 Oct 1942 at Tacoma, WA.
It looks like this was the only time he was in trouble.
His mother was married a second time to Michael Trunk and had 2 sons with him John & George. She had 4 daughters and William with her first husband. All those daughters were married multiple times.
Wonder what life was like for him and his sisters, what major event happened that changed everything?

"Wonder what life was like for him and his sisters, what major event happened that changed everything?" - It ran in the family. His father did time in prison for perjury after accusing his own father (William's grandfather Hermann Becker) under oath of counterfeiting. (I am Hermann's great-great-granddaughter)
