Hophead, is used to describe someone who uses and abuses mind and mood altering substances.

Chester's first wife was Katie M Graw they were married in Los Angeles, CA on 4 Aug 1906. I am sure she was the one who filed the adultery charges against him. His second wife Flora Tunie Hazelton (1881-1976), they married in 1921. I didn't find any children.

Chester's Family:

Dr. DeWitt Clinton Franklin was a dentist and they came to California in a covered wagon.

Florian died 17 Nov 1945, he was married twice, Bonita C Forrest and Ida May Hook (1879-1945). I found no children.

I made them a tree attached everything. What a wonderful story to add to a family tree, has spice, and history and even a doctor. A city clerk with political issues and some drugs, robbery and adultery for good measure. This would be a lovely movie for TCM's Noir Alley. I can the Marquee now.
