Wanted William Bryan Sandidge & Wife Elva for Embezzlement

William Bryan Sandidge was born 21 Oct 1896 in Louisiana to John Thomas Sandidge 1859-1942) & Anna Simons (1862-1950).

William was from a well known family. His father was the Director of the Moose Lodge, he was also the Chairman of the county Democratic Central Committee, held a life membership to the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the English Lutheran Church in San Bernardino, CA. His first wife Anna and him must of divorced because he marries a Minne L Yurs a widow with a son, his first wife dies in 1950.

William married Elva Louisa Crutchfield in 1919. Her father William Terry Crutchfield became a police officer in 1917 for San Bernardino.  Before that he was a milk delivery driver. Here's a few newspaper articles I found.

William seemed to be a bad boy even before he married Elva. He was in prison for robbery in 1917.

Inmate: 30682 San Quentin Prison
Rec: 11 Jun 1917
Crime: Robbery

Here's an article from 1919, he was sentenced 6 months to the County Jail.

Inmate: 13515 Folsom Prison
Rec: 19 Mar 1920
Crime: Robbery 2nd Degree
Term: 5 years

This is from 1933, he most likely only received jail time for this crime.

Elva was a stunning women, I found no divorce records or other marriage records for either of them. At the time of the embezzlement she was devastated to know this about her husband and was placed in a mental hospital. Here's an article below.

William died 26 July 1944

Elva would out live him for over 30 more years dying 25 June 1980 in San Bernardino, CA.

I made them a tree and added everything to it, there were several trees for both of them one one had his prison record added. They will now have a great story to tell once they see my tree with all the records and newspaper articles added. I wonder why William decided to go against everything his father stood for.
