Asa Omry Boyce was born Feb 1834 in Kingston, Canada, to Peter Boyce (1805-1885) & Olive Pixley (1808-1872). He was the 2nd oldest of 9 children and the oldest male.
He was accused of Burglary, arson and murder, but it could not be proved that he murdered. Here are some wonderfully detailed newspaper articles.

In 1882 he was at San Quentin as Prisoner #10483 for Manslaughter on 7 June 1882 and discharged on 7 June 1886.
As I read these articles I found he was involved in the Mountain Meadow Massacre, so I located a couple clippings on this event in history.

Asa was married to American Ann Neal (1839-1875), 22 Feb 1855 in Fillmore, UT. They had the following children.
James Omry Boyce
1855–1930
Julia Ann Boyce
1864–1917
Carrie B Boyce
1867–1938
Caroline Boyce
1867–1942
Peter Asa Boyce
1870–1959
Lydia Ruby Boyce
1873–1967
Carrie B Boyce might be the same as Caroline, or she belongs to another family. I left her as some trees has them both, they might of been twins.

Another article mentioning his criminal activities. His father Peter Boyce might have been the Indian Agent, I am not 100% sure, but I did find a book on Google Books, about the massacre that mentions him in it.
Massacre at Mountain Meadows
By Ronald W. Walker, Richard E. Turley, Glen M. Leonard
Asa died 11 Dec 1913 in Saratoga, CA, defying the authorities who said his 15 year term would be a death sentence. What a character he was. If he was involved in the Massacre at Mountain Meadows, that would be a story to add to his tree, I added everything to the tree I made him.
