Gladys Theresa Pierce was born in 1894 in Mobile, AL. She married at age 24 on 13 Jan 1918 in Chicago, IL to Donald R Hohenstein who also used "Ira" as a first name.

Inmate: #53076 San Quentin prison

They had a son George Donald Hohenstein born in 1918 in Chicago, IL. He also went by Donald. He was attacked by a dog when he was 12 years old on 9 Apr 1930. Here's a 1931 newspaper article about the trial.

I found nothing about Gladys family before her marriage, they moved from Illinois to California between the 1920 census and the 1930 census. She was a secretary. Her husband was Electric Engineer for Engr Dept City in Los Angeles, CA. They must of moved back to Chicago, IL after she was off parole.

I found a census record that might be Gladys as a child but I am not 100% positive, but it would makes sense as to why I can't find more family information on her. Although they list her birth place as Illinois instead of Alabama.
