I am thinking they may have married each other twice, as the 1920 census says his was is Anna D Ekle.
The 1930 census he claims to be single but the 1940 census he is married to Anna D Ekle. They might have seperated a few times.
A;va died 7 Feb 1969 in Calaveras County, California, he was buried in Lodi, CA in that county.
