His father died while he was in prison here's the telegram he received.



In the 1939 Sedalia Weekly Democrat article titled "Is Liberated After Being in Marital Tangle: "Roberts, born at Dresden under name of Cookman, was sent to an orphan's home when a baby, and adopted by a family named Roberts. He continues to use that name."

I wonder how he was reconnected with his father, he lists him on his prison record as a person to contact if something happened to him. Sad he died while he was locked up and could go to the funeral. I wonder who the Roberts family was that raised him, he had siblings here are their names, Frank was the baby of the family.

I looked up Frank Cookmans who died in Ohio in 1966, but only found someone (Frank D Cookman) with wrong age and details. Maybe you found someone else?
