Ruben would commit suicide while in San Quentin on 8 May 1936. He was a butcher by trade.

Here are some newspaper articles I found.

This is really sad, jumping from 45 to 50 feet to your death I would imagine would be a scary thing, then to survive it and suffer from the injuries for any length of time had to horrible. But what if he was pushed? Unless he was suicidal in which case they would of had him under watch.

He was the youngest of four children.

What I do not understand is why was he trying to commit burglary? Where was he when he got caught? What was he stealing? He was a butcher and that was a really good trade to have. He was young and most likely he would of only served 5 years or less of his 7 year sentence.

There is more to this story and I hope a family member comes forward to fill in the holes.

  1. He was close to half way through his sentence. Makes me question if it was a fall.
