He seemed to be all alone in the world. He also seemed to have a lying problem, and made up stories for attention. He may have had some kind of mental disorder, but he did know right from wrong as several times he tried to get himself out of trouble. He also wanted people to think he was older than he was, most likely for sympathy and get a lesser sentence. We may never really know what his real name was and who his family was, but we have a pretty clear picture of what he became from 1876 to 1926. A habitual criminal. A sad and very lonely life while on the outside. He may have been George H Hamilton although I didn't find his Civil War or other military records to prove this.
