He was an inmate in the Louisiana State prison in 1921 and escaped. I didn't find any newspaper article on this.

Edward died in Folsom Prison on 6 Apr 1930 he was 46 yrs old. His Find A Grave Memorial is #170187443. He was buried in the Folsom Prison Cemetery.
