He married Alice Smith (born abt 1858 in England) 25 Aug 1920 in Winnipeg, Ontario, Canada. She was his 2nd wife.

In 1921 the couple lived here 552 Stella Ave in Winnipeg.

I found a few interesting newspaper articles on his crimes and why he was dubbed "The Candle Grease Burglar".

The 1935 City Directory he is living alone.

In 1934 he was still at it, I found a couple newspaper articles telling how a 70 year old Joseph Kaiser was burglarizing homes.

I think I found Alice's obituary for Winnipeg dated 27 Dec 1933. Could be her. She died 26 Dec 1933. I also found her Find A Grave Memorial. I do not think Smith is her maiden name, I believe she was also married before.

When I started searching for Joseph's story all I had was his mugshot and the card with his arrest details. I made him a tree and added all this information to it so a family member searching for him will know his sad story.
