Hi Gwen! The John Thomas Carroll who was sentenced for bigamy (above) died in 1910 i Broken Hill. He was first married in 1877 in Gordon (VIC) to Julia Angela Burnip, whom he deserted in 1880 along with their two children. He was then married in 1884 in Menindee (NSW) to Julia McDonald (1863-1940) with whom he had altogether 10 children. There are several articles in Trove about the case if you wish to corroborate this. John (or Jack as he was called) was a bootmaker, and the son of boot- and shoemaker John Carroll och Martha nee Chambers of Bacchus Marsh. John senior was born around 1811 in County Down, Ireland. He married Martha in 1843 in Melbourne and died in 1869 in Bacchus Marsh. "Jack" was never married to a Sarah Ann Keast and it's not him in the family photo. Kind regards, Jonas Nilsson
