Marini's family were Mormons and his father George wrote a song called Once I Lived In Cottonwood. Here's a YouTube video of a band singing it, it's the only one I could find and not very good but listen to the words.

Here are a few photos of George

He loved his wife very much and had a great respect for her as he had this put on her headstone.

Inscription reads: "She was a virtuous, loving wife. Who kept her home with prudent care. To usefulness she gave her life, and was respected everywhere."

Below is her obituary photo

Marini Hicks married Lucinda A Owens (1875-1964) on 15 Jun 1893 in Kane, UT. Below is a photo of them together.

They had the following children:

Myrtle Lura Hicks

1896–1934

Leo Moroni Hicks

1897–1952

Stella Gladys Hicks

1900–1936

Clynton John Hicks

1902–1904

Laroy Charles Hicks

1906–1974

Edward Hicks

1908–1945

Interestingly I found that their son Edward Hicks was one of the many who helped build the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA. Here's a photo of Edward.

I found some photos I don't think he is in any.

Here's a video on the man who was the Engineer.

Here's the Bridge's story.

Marini Hicks would 17 Mar 1931 in South Gate, CA. As a retired farmer, his wife outlived him by 30 years.

What an interesting family, most of their children had multiple marriages. Lucinda was married to a Henry Amos Brown in 1916 so they must of divorced at some point.

I love the history in this family and the photos.
