Ada Louise "Nina" Goldbin: Robbed too Many Times

Ada Louise "Nina" Goldbin was born 17 Jan 1898 in Madison, WI to Henry Goldbin (1871-1945) and Elizabeth Odtenberg (1875-1938).

The first robbery was in 1931, here are some newspaper articles. They had gone on a voyage to France and $50,000 worth the jewels were taken and never recovered.

In 1932 their car was stolen, here's the newspaper article.

Then 1933 she robbed again of her jewels and beat over the head.

She and her husband Raymond John Anderton (1881-1939) were married 27 Apr 1911 in North Attleboro, MA. He was a fishman who started his own fishing fleet and sold everything to the government when the war broke out and made a fortunate. He also owned several business through the years. I found some lawsuits in the papers. They never had any children.

How many times can one person be robbed? Well at least 5 times for this poor lady.

They traveled all over the world, I found lots of passenger lists. I also found the house they lived in at 22 Catherine St, in Newport, New Jersey. Look at these lovely photos.

Nina died 12 Nov 1979 in Santa Monica, CA. She was 76 years old.

What a life with money and travel and parties and add a few robberies in the mix to liven up the party. I know I usually write about the criminals, but this pulled on me for a long time and I just had to write about it. I made them a tree and added everything, someone will be tickled to find it.
