Emma Lou Short: Grand Larceny

Emma Lou Short was born 2 Aug 1899 in Berea, KY, to Pritchard Short & Isabelle Stepp.

She was married a couple times: 

First marriage was 25 Apr 1931 in Golden, CO to Herman H. Lange. They divorced 21 Aug 1931.

Second she married Raymond Joseph Batcha (1892-1970) I did not find their marriage record. They adopted a daughter and named her Dorothy Ruth Batcha (1922-2007).

Below is their Church membership for Bethany Lutheran Church in Englewood, CO. 26 May 1940, which mentions they adopted her as an infant.

By this time her and Raymond must of divorced as he has a wife named Theresa. He was working in the mines as a miner.

They are buried together in the Layfette Cemetery in Layfette, CO.

The 1940 census has Emma and her daughter living with Emma's mom in Denver, CO. I didn't find a death record for Emma. Dorothy never married and is buried in Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston, WA. She had been living there since 1973 according to the records I found.
