O.Z. Burley was born24 Jan 1911 in Kansas City, KS although he states in his prison records he was born in Oklahoma. His mother was Edna and must of been married a few times, I have 2 last names for her so I am not sure what her maiden was (Walls, Paris).

OZ was a porter when he was incarcerated. He also did jail time in 1937 in Auburn, CA 30 days in the brink.
I did not find any newspaper articles on the manslaughter charge.
He tired to get into Canada to work but he was denied.

He was living in Holdenville, OK at the time, the 1930 census shows he was a musician in an orchestra, he was about 19 years old then.

So who knows what the truth really is.
OZ married Louise Hamilton in San Diego, CA on 21 Sep 1957. There were children I am not sure if he was the father or step-father they bare his last name.

In 1968 I found this in the newspaper article. This usually implies divorce but his wife is mentioned in his obituary.
OZ died 1 Nov 1979 in Contra Costa, CA.
I wonder who he killed and why.
