Eva was married William James Coo He had several marriages.

She ran a brothel and it was very successful, the depression was the depression and she was feeding herself and her staff.

She open a bar in Oneonta, NY a small city but a bustling one with a railroad through the town which transients came through everyday. Her clientele were, truck drivers, rail road workers, college students, construction works and even Politian's. It was called Eva's Place.

Eva was boisterous, outgoing woman with a quick sense of humor who could always be counted on for a good time. She was 5’ 7” and weighed a muscular 170 pounds. Everyone knew Eva and she knew everyone else, including politicians and police.

Harry Wright known as "Gumy" was a regular, he was a local farmer and unable to care for himself and Eva took him in after his mother passed in 1931. He had $2,000 of his inheritance.
He drank to excess and walked along a busy highway often falling int the ditch and passing out. This is where her bright idea cam into play to get the money.

Martha Clift had came to Eva's bar in 1933, she was from Pennsylvania and they became good friends. So good in fact they plotted William's death.

She ran over the victim with her car, Eva took a hammer to his head first, they collect the insurance money.

Both women faced execution
Martha was apparently paroled after serving 13 years behind bars.

It was said the family did not claim her body, one sister said she had already been dead for 17 years and Eva was buried in the Potter's Cemetery in Sing Sing Prison. I found her Find A Grave Memorial
