Trouble started brewing in 1934 and 1935 when Claude was drinking and driving and assaults' women. Theses articles are from 1934.

She had scalp wounds and had to have stitches. Can you imagine a man coming at you with a tire iron and striking you in the head. I wonder if she sustained long term problems because of this attack. I would think PSTD for sure.

He was married to Elva Mae Hanson 24 Feb 1931, they had one child a son I wont name as he could still be alive.

Elva divorced him but in the 1950 Census they are living together as a family with their son.

Good for her, except she takes him back when he gets released.

He was released on parole 15 July 1940 and then discharged from parole on 21 Oct 1942.

What on earth made this man so mad to attack these women? Was it an alcohol problem, a anger management problem or a mental problem or all the above? He seems pleased with himself in the photos.

Claude died 18 Aug 1986 in Porterville, CA and Elva died in 2003.

I made them a tree on Ancestry and everything is attached to it, including newspaper articles and all sources sited there.
