Antone or Antonio G. Lapara was born about 1890 in Italy and came to America in about 1909. He and his wife settled in San Francisco, CA and had 2 daughters. This is his story.
On the 28 Nov 1917 Antone supposedly jump onto a running board of a truck with a shotgun and killed Mariot (Mario) Alioto.

He was received into San Quentin Prison as Prisoner #33085 on 15 Oct 1919, with a death warrant hanging over his head. His wife and daughters plea for his life so they can spend Christmas with him in the prison. His execution date was set for 19 Dec 1919.

The above link to an article about Antone's reproductive interstitial glands and transplant them into the body of an aged prisoner in order to rejuvenate the latter. Lapara's attorney recently declared the widow was entitled to the $10,000 offered lor Lapara's glands.

What a story, this family had strong ties as they were together in the end, although after he leaves prison there is no trace of him. I searched census records. One article mentions he may change his name and put all this behind him, is that what Antone did?
