The man he beat and robbed was his Uncle, his mother's Brother. Who would die in a local nursing home at age 75 all alone.

Sam says he's divorced, this would end up being a very interesting story, he married first Caroline Jenny Frice (1927-1950) 7 Oct 1950 in Miles City, MT.

So she divorced him before she dies from a gunshot wound he gave her. There is a birth announcement for a daughter born 6 Apr 1950.

They divorced in Sept and she died in Oct. He was not held responsible. As most of who have been around guns know they do not just go off, but I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say it could of happened.

1954 He is help for Federal Charges

All these records were found on Ancestry including the prison records. The newspaper articles all came from Newspapers.com. I am intrigued by Sam's life, I wonder if he would of turned out differently if he had been raised by his stepmother, but then one never knows, this may have been his destiny in life. Sam would die 17 Sep 1991 in White Pine, NV.

  1. Wow, he was quite a character! Shooting your new wife in the stomach wasn't even the worst of what he would go on to do. Thanks for sharing another interesting story.
