I will call him by his birthname, Elkin B. Grindstone was born about 1870. His Father was Boone Lincoln and his mother was Sa Quah Tah. Why he went by Grindstone I could not figure out, but I did find that he was Shawnee according to Indian Territory Census records for Oklahoma. Boone may have been his step father, maybe a descendant will leave a comment to clear this up.
He married Mary Palun 20th of May 1897 in Muskogee, OK. She must of died, perhaps in childbirth as he married again on 11 Sep 1901 in Seneca, Mo to Stella Ann Harvey and they had a daughter named Jessie Grindstone.

In the Indian Census Charles Jackson is listed, they must of been friends at some point in their lives or maybe enemies, but maybe they were drinking so that might be a huge factor in this crime. A family member could request the court papers. He was sentenced for seven years.
Inmate #3760 Leavenworth Federal Prison, although this photo might have been taken while he was in jail awaiting to be transferred to the prison as the number is 12, not too sure why.
I found all his prison records and mugshot at the National Archives online.
He got sick while he was in prison, the record shows he had Tubercular abscess of the hip and pulmonary tuberculosis.
Elkin would die in prison on the 26th June 1904 at 3:20 Pm at the age of 38. He was buried in the prison cemetery on the 27th Jun 1904. His sentence would of expired 31 Oct 1910 and he would of been eligible for parole.
