Charles Roy Clark was born 13 Dec 1924 in Ogdensburg, New York, to Carl Eugene Clark (1907-1978) & Edith Alma Wright (1909-1983).

He joined the Navy one week after Pearl Harbor was attacked. He was stationed four years in Puerto Rico, assigned to blimp service.
While on leave in Miami he met a 16-year-old model Lois Mae Bravaldo (1928-2017), and they married Jun 1945. He discharged from service and they moved to Rochester, New York for six years then settled in Mentor, Ohio.

They had four children
He was employed as a design engineer for Reliance Electric & Engineering Company. He was a tech for the service division of the company's Federal Marine Section. He worked between his company and the Navy Department for 15 years. He traveled widely for work.
He knew a man named Floyd Eugene Hargrove, they had worked together on and off, he was a buyer at Reliance.
On 24th Dec 1959 Charles was getting ready for the annual Boy Scout Christmas Caroling, all dressed in his uniform, he stood at the kitchen sink with a can opener, opening a can of pumpkin for his little daughter who was helping her mom bake, when a sniper's bullet struck him.
They had four children from ages 7 to 13 years old. (All have since passed) Lawrence, Carol, Steven & Terri Clark.
Police Chief Frank D. Hathy thought the trajectory was upward and from a small caliber gun. He figured a sniper snuck up beside a sycamore tree 42 feet from the kitchen window and took aim and pulled the trigger. The ground was frozen over that week, so no footprints were found and no shell casings.
Lois while being interview by the police told them She had been receiving anonymous phone calls in the weeks leading up to the shooting. The man said he wanted to date her, when she refused, he threatened her.
She also revealed an affair she had the previous Spring of 1959 with a man named Floyd Hargrove. She had also had three past lovers.

Floyd plead guilty to the crime, but he did know they type of gun and they never found it.
After the jury listen to his confession tapes, they acquitted him.

He wanted to marry Lois, but she left Ohio and took the kids and moved to California.

Lois Mae Bravaldo was born 24 Sep 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida, to George Utah Bravaldo (1905-1976) & Catherine Cole Billiter (1908-1993). Her parents divorced in 1935.
She re-married on 9 Dec 1960 to David Easo Smith (1927-1992). As far as I can see they had no children.
Charles Roy Clark's case is an unsolved Murder. My thoughts are that it may have had something to do his employment.
