Johnn George Haight: Murder

John George Haight was born 24 Jul 1909 in Stamford, Lincolnshire, England to John Robert Haight & Emily Hudson.

He sang in the choir and was good at math and science. 

He married Beatrice Hamer 6 Jul 1934 in England and while he was in prison for fraud (1939), she gave birth to a baby girl, put it up for adoption and divorced him. His family turned their backs on him. Beatice was born 1911 England.

He bought acid on several occasions to use to get rid of the bodies and because of this they dubbed him the "Acid-Bath" killer.

Was she missing? Did he kill her too or was she hiding? Or did she just re-marry which would have changed her last name. I did find a Beatrice Haigh who died in 2000, might be her, would of made her 88 when she died.

The Worley .38 is the type of gun he used on his victims, along with a lead pipe.

When they arrested him and went through his things they found passports and Russian cards in a briefcase. I searched immigration records and there's so many John Haigh's it's impossible to tackle which ones would be him. In the end he was hung at the Wandsworth Prison on 10 Aug 1949.
