William Murray: Killing Spree

William Murray/Murry Born Jun 1875 in Racoon, KY to Noah Node Murray/Murry & Elizabeth Ann Gill. He was married in 1899 to Elizabeth Chestnut.

William, a coal miner, saw 22-year-old Elbert Cole, the son of Mine Inspector Perry C. Cole, as a jealous threat after being separated from his wife for a few weeks due to her alleged closeness with Elbert. In a fit of rage, William entered a store where Elbert was and shot him dead. On his way home, he shot his mother-in-law, Melinda Parker-Chestnut, and upon arriving, found his wife in the yard and shot her twice, killing her, before turning the gun on himself.
