Beulah Limerick: Unsolved Murder District of Columbia

 Beulah Limerick was born 12 Jan 1911 in Westmoreland, VA. to Gustavus Travis Limerick (1872-1921) & Dora Elizabeth Bitler (1880-1944). She was married to Earl Aitchenson on 4 Jul 1925 in Maryland, but she petitioned for an annulment in 1929, she was only 14 when they married.

She was the secretary of the Sky-High Woopie Club, a group of men and women who vowed to never go to sleep until dawn.

In late in December 1930, she was 19 years old and was found with a bullet hole in the base of her head by a .25 caliber gun, that the corner missed but the undertaker found.  Searching the house they then found the gun in the stove along with make-up. The make-up had been applied to her by someone else, time of death was about 3am.

Her mother and her brother were arrested, questioned and released as well as her x-husband William Earl who was a truck driver and had a perfect alibi was also let go.

Richard Langdon was arrested he was called the "Millionaire Cop"


Iona Dewey gave a statement about the events of the evening.

Thgey questioned more than fifty people.

 She was only nineteen years old and so much more life to live. Such a sad story. Her diary was full of erotic hints about men she had been with. It took a task force to track them all down.
