Wallace William Stewart was born Jun 1872 in Arkansas, USA to William Stewart (1846-1882) & Mary Elizabeth Orme (1848-1930).
Wallace was a bad, bad boy!!!!
He had all kinds of things going on, from bootlegging, to public fighting to murder.
This is his story:
In 1907 he was making whisky and a local policeman named Ledbetter was mentioned several times as the arresting officer.
I am not 100% sure what his wife was doing with this man but I could come up with a pretty good guess.
Wallace must not of been a very good driver or he had been drinking his own whisky.
So now we have the Mayor involved in Wallace's speedometer, This man was such a character, I truly wish I could of met him, I would have a long list of questions for him, one being "What were you thinking?"
So in 1912 we have another accident and a fight in a streetcar....Busy, busy crazy man.
Then of all things strange this happens
The we have a sister-in-law who filed charges against him in 1919.
I also found newspaper articles relating to his son Arthur Turney Stewart at age 16. He did turn his life around and joined the Navy.
I did not find any criminal records for Wallace online. He died 13 Dec 1958 in Los Angeles, CA.
His children: William Homer Stewart was in WWI He enlisted 8 Aug 1913 in Texas into the Navy. He married and had 3 children.
Beulah Elizabeth Stewart Married 3 times had one child.
Nothing is known about Mandy Stewart
Clamits Stewart I found no marriage for
Grace Stewart married Frank Charles Banks
Wallace's children from second marriage
Carl Edward Stewart was married 4 times he died in Texas.
Kenneth James Stewart Married Shirley E Alexander they lived in San Diego where he died,
Wallace's father William Thomas Stewart was on a Son's of the Revolutionary Soldier Membership.
He was a farmer and died in 1882 in Arkansas when Wallace was about 10 years old.
His mother Mary Elizabeth Orme died 22 Jan 1930 on OK when Wallace was 58 yrs old.
All of this started and came about because of a wanted poster sent to a California sheriff and he stuck it in their book and someone microfilmed it almost 100 years later for me to find and tell this man's crazy life story.
This is why I loved Criminal Genealogy, you never know what story waits behind the photo.

This is his story:
I first found this wanted posted of Wallace and it nagged at me for while, so I started him a tree on Ancestry and started digging. Why was a man in Oklahoma wanted and why was this poster sent to Tulare County Sheriff's office in California?

Between 1910 and 1920 he was always in trouble for something and had his name in the Muskogee Newspaper often, I am sure everyone in the county knew him, the police better than most.
In fact he was so well known that someone was arrested and used his name, here's the article.
I am not 100% sure what his wife was doing with this man but I could come up with a pretty good guess.
So he pretty much got away with murder.
Lets see what other trouble was stirred up.
