  1. Wow! This is a little family history about which I had no idea! If all your information is true, this would have been my grandmother's sister. What a shock it must have been to the family at the time.

Interestingly, there would have been another sister, Margaret, of which Maggie is a common diminutive. Margaret was born after "Maggie" and lived a short three years. I'll have to do a little digging on the subject. Fascinating!

  2. I've been looking at any and all family records and I don't have a "Maggie" Nolan, born in 1867. There is a Margaret born in 1869, as attested by a number of US census forms.

I wonder if you might be able to provide any further documentation on the relationship between your Maggie Nolan, born in 1867, and my Maggie Nolan, born in 1869.

There is another Nolan family in San Francisco at the time of the 1870 census with similar names, but is not our family.

  4. This Maggie Nolan had a Sister Margaret born in 1879-died in 1882. I never found a death record for Maggie. I am confident of this information.

  5. It seems clear to me that we have different "Maggies". Yours may have indeed had a sister born in 1879, but mine did not. In fact, my Margaret had a younger sister, Margaret, who was born in 1867 and lived for only 9 months, and is buried in the family plot in Sacramento's City Cemetery (plot 34 320).

The older Margaret was born in 1869 and was later married to Joseph Feehan. They had a daughter, Mildred, and a son, Wallace. Does your research make that connection?

Again, despite your confidence in your research, I have not been able to make the connection that you have. Can you point to any documentation supporting your claim?

I'll admit that such a discovery would be of great interest to members of my family, but it is not information I'd like to share unless I'm certain of its authentication. It would be helpful if you could point to those documents that make the connection of which you write.

I should mention, other names in your list of "Maggie's" siblings, are indeed in my family tree.
