Blanche Irene Delong: Obtaining Money Under False Pretences

Blanche Irene Delong was born 1 June 1875 in Ohio to possibly James H Delong (1846-1927) and Clara B Deal (1852-1893).

Blanche married William Henry Bestor (1866-1958) in 1893 in Cuyahoga, Ohio.

Inmate #43172 San Quentin Prison
Rec: 31 Jan 1927
Crime: Obtaining Money Under False Pretences
Term: 1-10 years
Paroled: 29 Feb 1928
Discharged: 30 Sep 1928
Age: 51

Why would a 51 year old women commit this crime? Where was her family? Her and her husband had 7 children. Didn't they have anything to do with her? They were all in California.

She had to find employment as part of her parole.

Blanche dies 9 Dec 1940.

I think is what might have happened is her husband left her and re-married. I found a couple trees and I am not 100% sure about their information. There also might have been another Blanche, but the records I found lead me to this husband, kids and her parents. There are some who have her maiden name as Wilkes, but her birth info and childrens records have Delong as mother's maiden not Wilkes. Maybe she remarried.

The fact still remains that at age 51 she was sent to prison along with a Katherine  Brooks, I have no information they committed the crime together but they committed the same crime at the same time in the same place so chances are they were together.
Something else I found is that Katherine was born about 1873 in Ohio, were they sisters or related in some way?

This makes their story even more intriguing, I didn't find a connection but that doesn't mean there isn't one. That would be something.
