James Lowell Morehouse was born 2 Dec 1906, Michigan to Hiram Robinson Morehouse (1876-1956) & Iva M MacGriffin (1875-1947).
He married Esther A Tupper in 1928 (1907-19070). She was a nurse at a sanitarium.
17 Dec 1927 James was robbing a place with 2 accomplices and shot and killed Deputy Sheriff Cleo Platt and went on the lamb with his new wife.

1926 Chrysler 58 Roadster 2 tone similar to the car James was driving while on the lamb.
1930 & 1940 census shows he is incarcerated in the Michigan State Prison. I have sent for his records and will update this post with them.
Esther suck by her man dying April 1970 in Battle Creek, MI James followed 8 years later dying 31 Dec 1978 in Jackson, MI. They had a son named Anthony James Morehouse 1938-1994. I am wondering if they were allowed conjugal visits while he was locked up. Unless he was released and got a parole violation, or was incarcerated for something else. Guess we will have to wait for the records.

I found this wanted poster on the Washington Digital Online Site. This is where it all started.
Then I check newspaper clippings and found these.
