She was a school teacher here at Roosevelt Elementary School

The 1900 Census shows her as an inmate at the House Of The Good Shepherd.

The 1910 Census she is a teacher living on Townsend Ave

The 1920 Census she is a teacher living at West Grand Boulevard Street.

The 1930 Census she is back in the House Of The Good Shepherd
I believe it's an asylum. I am not 100% sure the 1900 and the 1930 census is her, there is another Mary Regan in Detroit, MI. And her parents were also from Ireland, I believe their father's were brothers who each had a daughter named Mary.

Good Shepherd on Fort St. near 19th which was to "reclaim fallen women and to rescue those in danger of going astray."

Someone broke into Mary's sister's house and stole some of her items and attempted to break into a truck of hers.

As far as I can tell she was never found. I found no further newspaper articles and If that isn't her in the 1930 census which I do not think it is, then I believe she was murdered. Why else would someone be looking through her things at her sister's house? It had to of been someone close to her who had knowledge of her things being stored at her sister's.

The phone call to Kneipp Sanitarium in Indiana I think was a ploy, she was never a patient there according to the newspaper account. Photo below.

She told her sister she was heading to Mount Clemens, MI for some rest and relaxation.

So what really happened to Mary? No one knows. Many people have put 1928 as her death date although that was never proven. I do believe she died, that someone did something to her while she was on her way to Mt. Clemens or maybe even before she left her house. I would love to see the inside today and use some luminal to see if there is blood anywhere. I guess the mystery will just stay that way until I meet her in the hereafter and can talk to her.
