Let's start with Margaret, she drove fear into the Judge Murphy for 8 years and her crimes were wiped off the court list until the assault charge. Who did she assault you ask? Well here's that story, Margaret was locked up in jail and when she returned home she caught her man with another woman named Mrs. Emma Lathrop. She slashed her face up with a knife on 14 Feb 1886.

During the court hearing Margaret was boisterous, yelling out swear words and then when Emma took the stand she screamed "Why did you take my children from me?" "Why couldn't find a single Man?" and " Raise your veil and show the scars on your face Let everybody see them and let them know what you are." Margaret's daughter broke down and had to be taken from the courtroom, but this had no effect on her. Below are a few newspaper clippings that show just how colorful she was.
