Joaquin Brown was born in 1891 in Aurora, NV. He was from the Paiute Tribe.
Inmate: #F240 Nevada State Prison
Rec: 1 July 1929
Crime: Manslaughter
Term: 3 years
Age: 39
He married Mary Jack and they had the following children:
Bernita Brown
1914–1963
John Brown
1915–
Wesley Brown
1919–
Perry Brown
1919–1958
Maggie Brown
1920–
Arthur Brown
1920–
Joe Donald Brown
1922–1989
Martha Brown
1927–
Eunice Brown
1927–2007
After Joaquin release from prison and he returned home, he would die on 4 Nov 1942 when he fell while at work at the airport, he was 51 years old.
Strange that the newspaper article has more information than the death certificate does.
The family ultimately has a course of bad luck, after the death of their mother. I found death certificates for a few of them.
Perry would be in a horrible car accident leaving nine children behind.
Then about 5 years later Bernita would die in a fire as she laid in her bed, she was 49 years old. I didn't find a newspaper article for this. (I am thinking she was smoking in bed).
Some facts about Joaquin's Tribe
PAIUTE TRIBE: The Northern and Southern Paiute Indians of northern Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and eastern California live in the southern and northwestern portions of the Great Basin. They have migrated seasonally throughout these arid lands for thousands of years.
Although the northern Paiute were more hostile than the southern Paiute, the tribe was known for possessing many good qualities like being moral and peaceful. In fact, what they are known for is their non-violent ways.
Heart breaking, what pain this family went through and I believe there is more to find. I made him a tree and I added everything to it. Hopefully I will be able to find more on the other children.
