Miguel Chacon: Murdered His Mistress

Miguel Chacon was born Nov 1864 in Cuba, He had an Uncle Julian Lopez, and he was a cigar maker. He was having an affair with a married women, Mrs Maria Williams.





On 20 June 1884 Maria Williams and Miguel got into an argument, she asked him to leave because her husband was coming back home, who had been in Richmond, VA. Miguel showed up at her address, No. 126 West 26th Street, NYC. He drew his revolver and shot Maria dead, he also tried to kill her husband, Monroe (the husband) tackled him into the hallway to get the revolver away. Miguel escaped and and was captured several hours later on a roof of a house on Spring Street. Someone from the Cuban Revolutionary Society, known as the "Niazza" revealed his hiding place to the police.

Miguel was sentenced on 29 Oct 1884 and because of the appeals process he wasn't executed until 9 July 1886. His Uncle was there. He was 21 years old.
