She killed her first husband, James Webster Basham. She had been aving an affair with Duborow and James had life insurance. James was killed January 9, 1932 then she married Duborow March 25, 1932. The book "San Diego Murder & Mayhem" refers to her as Martha but I can't seem to find anything under that name.
