An short paragraph from the newspaper link above.

According to Judge Turner F J Bailey of Sacramento originally owned the Laguna - avenue house eight years ago. He gave Mrs. Huber a deed In escrow pending the payment of $3000 borrowed from her.  In turn she gave him a return deed placed In escrow.  In the meantime he sold the property to Mrs Johnson.  In May of last year Mrs Johnson won a quit - claim proceeding In the Superior Court,  and it was at that time that Mrs Huber is alleged to have threatened to kill both Mrs Johnson and Bailey. The latter has since dropped from sight and the police are unable to find him.

I can understand being upset and devastated because she was losing her home, she also had a crippled husband. But to try and take someone's life is a little crazy.

Lucia came to America 29 May 1909 from Belgium on the the ship pictured below, called the Kroonland.

Lucia married John L Huber 5 June 1916 in Woodland, CA.
Either they divorced while she was in prison or he died. She was released 7 Feb 1923. She would go to Los Angeles to live for the remainder of her life. There she married Frank Bush (1888-1959) 14 Oct 1931. He was a boilermaker.

She died 24 June 1959 and her husband Frank would died in 11 Sep 1959.
