He was transferred to Leavenworth as Inmate #8161
Some identifying features about James is his toes on his right foot had all been amputated. He had a gunshot wound to his left arm and many more scars are listed under descriptions.
While he was in Leavenworth he often wrote to a Dr. Bertha Wolfe of Denver, she was a chiropractor.
James alias were:
J. E. Mitchell
James Edward Mitchell
E. Wilson
Edward Wilson
His occupation was stonecutter, which would of been a pretty good way of life if he would of stuck to it. I have no idea who his parents were or when and where he died. I did find a 1895 newspaper article that has a drawing in it I think it maybe him.

It wasn't uncommon for crooks to travel together and hop a train here or there. It was stated in his prison records that he had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
