Ralph Francis Goodwin was born 1 May 1940 in Dover, NH, to Albert Francis Goodwin (1909-1984) & Angelina Claire Drouin (1918-2000).
In July of 1968 Ralph snapped, for some reason he held his wife hostage in his brother's trailer house with a gun to her head, as if this wasn't scary enough the news media got wind of it and was there taking photos of him with the gun to her head and they were published in the newspaper.
Then of course they use this shooting for gun control.

Ralph married Marilyn Kay Vezeau 12 Nov 1960, this was her second marriage, she had been married to Stephen Harry Hanson (1943-1973). They had a daughter together. Apparently Ralph and MArilyn had 2 children a boy and a girl and I am going to post any information on them as they could still be living and deserve their privacy.
He was sent for evaluation to Augusta State Hospital in Aug 1968.
Ralph held her hostage for 5 to 7 hours and the reporters show up and he allows them in the house to photograph him and his wife on the couch, he has a gun to her head and she is curled up with her back to his side and avoids the camera. He takes her outside waving his gun around and he trips and shoots her in the head and she dies later and the cops shoot him in the leg. This is not an accident, he may not of meant to shoot her at that moment but his actions throughout 6 to 7 hours holding her hostage clearly show what his intentions were going to be. I think if the reporters wouldn't of shown up he would of killed her and taken his own life.
Ralph Francis Goodwin lived here in 1960 240 Central Ave, Dover, NH.
I did not find any newspaper articles as to a court trial and him being sentenced, I am guessing he was admitted and left in the state hospital.
Ralph died 28 Dec 2000 in New Hampshire.
Maybe being in the service messed with his head, regardless there had to of been signs and severals lives would forever be changed because of this, but the saddest is the little children who had no parents to raise them.
