I would like to point out that there was a race horse in the late 1890's called Snapping Andy, I wonder if that horse was named after this Andy, that would be kinda cool.
These men lived in a time where guns were on their hips, the horse got you where you needed to go and drifting from place to place was what desperado's did. I didn't find them on any census records, no family. Just two friends watching out for each others backs and going to prison together and waiting for the other to get out and start all over again. We may think this was a sad life but I wonder if they were sad, maybe they were having the time of their lives. Who knows.
I really love their alias'
Here's one small article about the horse Snapping Andy.
Could you imagine living in 1890 in Quincy, California, sitting at a race track betting on Snapping Andy. I would bet $10.
