He was committing crimes all over the east coast from Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and District of Columbia. I found 3 newspaper articles. He was committed to reform school in District of Columbia and he escaped from it through a wind tying sheets together.
So he lied about his age to avoid prison, I wonder how old he really was. His police report says 18 he told authorities he was 16 but the New York police said he was about 24. I made him a tree on Ancestry, I also checked FamilySearch for info on him and found nothing.
He looks so sad and alone, what happened to his family? Did he come to America alone? Was he a indentured servant? What kind of life did he have before he turned to crime and what happened to him after? So many questions and not enough answers.
