William Enright And His Brother Thomas Enright: Robber's

William Enright was born 4 Apr 1871 in Pennsylvania, although some records say NY. To Thomas T Enright (1844-1922) & Johanna Madagan (1845-1922).

The earliest record I found for William was the 1880 census He was about 5 years old and his family was all living in California by then. William had a very large family all brother and one sister. William was the 3rd oldest.

In 1910 his brother Peter who was a newsboy, most likely for their other brother whom owned a newspaper, the lot of the brothers were all in the newspaper business in some manner except for the 2 oldest ones, one was a plasterer and the other a photo engraver.

So peter went to work on fighting for a pardon for his big brother William, I found this newspaper article.

He was pardoned but he was back in prison by 1923.

Thomas died in 1923 here is his Find A Grave Memorial

I found a Find A Grave Memorial for William but  I think it is wrong, they have him buried in the Folsom Prison Cemetery. Also I found a William Enright who is buried in the same cemetery as his family who died in 1948, I believe this to be the right one.

Here is the Prison Cemetery Memorial

Here is the other memorial I found

I linked all the children and parents to each other on Find A Grave.

Their one and only sister Margaret lived to be 91 years old I found her funeral record.

They were a large Irish family.
