The body, partially submerged in a pool of stagnant water, was found at 7 o'clock this morning by a Santa Fe brakeman. McGee met his death as the result of a drunken spree is attested by evidence which several witnesses will give at the inquest.

I must say I love California, I lived there for 4 years from ages 8-13, and have visited family that still live there through the years. If you have never been there you would be amazed. There are ghost towns you can visit, I panned for gold in the red woods and saw several ghost towns. They are hidden gems to check out. The reason I mention this is in the long newspaper article on his crime it mention two saloons "Noah's Ark" & Bate's Saloon".

I wonder why he & his wife split up, was it his drinking or was he a good husband up to point. Be neat to know why they divorced and who she was.

I did find a jail record for him for 1904
