Eileen Mary Hallett was born Oct 1906 in Llandudno, England, to Frederick Henry Hallett (1877-1923) & Evelyn Mary Kearns (1884-1953)

On the 20th of Jan 1922 Eileen went missing. she was 15 yrs old, 5'6" tall with a slim build, brown hair to her waist, fair skin, blue eyes, she wore glasses.

There were several young girls that went missing around the same time as Eileen.

At the time of her disappearance her father was the manager of the Rougemont Hotel in Exeter, I found a photo.

Here are some links to more newspaper articles on Eileen disappearance. Seems the police had no clues.

Sadly the family moved by 1923 to Budleigh, Sulterton, England, her father Frederick just couldn't cope the his daughter missing. He took a job as proprietor of the Rolle Hotel, here's some photos I found.

Frederick went missing and later his body was found and it was concluded he had drowned. I find this very strange, could he have been murdered? Why didn't the newspaper say anything about an autopsy, inquest or something from a coroner?

Here are the newspaper articles on Frederick's disappearance and death.

I dug and dug for more newspaper articles and death records for Eileen and I didn't find anything. There are a couple trees for this family but none of this is added to any of them, I did make them a tree and I added everything so it will come up as hints at some point.

Eileen's mom was devastated after her husband death it just snuffed the life from her according to the news reports. She did make a trip to New York City in May of 1922 4 months after Eileen went missing.
As far as I can tell by records she didn't re-marry and Eileen was their only child. But there was a 8 year old girl named Nora Kathleen Hallett who went on the boat to New Yor City with her.

They sailed on the RMS Adriatic

I added Nora as a daughter to Frederick & Evelyn to see if any other records would come up to prove she was related.

And low and be hold I found her, she was born in April in 1913, and died in 1999 in France. I wonder if her parents took her to America to stay with relatives for fear she was also in danger. The Passenger lists state she was going there permanently to stay with grandparents.
She did come back and was a machinist during the war.

She married William Hugh Miller Mackay in  1947
